Howdy!

I was wondering what you guys had planned for cooperative mode in arrangement. Mainly - can a cooperative map be played one player as well?

Sven Co-Op had a great system where a map could be played single player, and more could join later. That was a fantastic method because you could still play the game if you were a loser with no friends  Tongue

I was wanting to make a map for cooperative play - but have no idea how the mode works  cwy

On SC, in order to play, you need to create a server. That's why players can join.

The coop mode remains inactive at the moment, because I can't do all by myself. That takes lot of time and I am already focused on the SP game. Lots of models and code needs to be fixed to work properly over a net.

We really need some random missions for the SP game, more than eva. Yannick has quit because a new fatherhood (congrats!) and now I am completely alone.  nottalkingtoyou If you want to cooperate... the whole world will be really happy to see what you can do.

If you want, Am Battle 2 can be an official mission in Am SP.

Awww  cwy The co-op game trailer looked loads of fun, even if it was a bit buggy it would be cool to play online and blast some terrorists  Tongue

Congratulations to Yannick, Kids > Half life modding lol! I'd be up for making a single player mission, need some ideas though Wink Are the single player missions each gonna be totally seperate then?

It works... but needs some fixes. Not a big problem but I really really want to finish the SP first.

Oh, I f***ing love you

I don't want to spoil anything here but... we (yannick and I) were making SP levels toghether... and also, we have used his voice and his face on some parts in the game. These voice clips aren't all finished... so, I'll need to strip some dialogs (again) and cut-scenes without dialogs is useless, so, I'll need to keep cutting content... Same for maps. We have divided our tasks, that's the way we made some maps... Now, some parts of them are missed and I am completely confused, because I don't have any Idea of what's next.
Also, one big problem was the big HL2 content he used on the maps. Not a big problem 'cause I can change them but that will take ages. Would be easier to create a map from scratch, using new content.

I made a mistake before and I've learn from it. Some of the maps we were making weren't related with main's story line. Wasn't a procedural job.

I would modify his maps... but I don't, honestly, have idea what I need to do with these. I'd create a few missions and work on the maps that are related to the story line (start, ending) and such. Luckily I don't think about story 'cause it's there. It's all about mapping and have fun.

Probabily, if can't get more help, I will be releasing the mod with... 6 missions and respective endings and such. All mapped by myself. Of course, mappers are welcome.

I don't think you need ideas Tongue You have nice ones so far. "Riding a boat"'s map it's fun. People love that, it's nice, it's fresh (isn't being in a closed room fighting with zombies, you know).
The SP missions "seems" to be unrelated but the character is always fighting with the same terrorist group. Well, they are related but they don't, actually. It's hard to explain.
Missions are connected by some cut-scenes in where the player is informed about what happened and what should do. Of course, there is a last mission and such but I guess I am the only one who can work on that part.

So, that's what I wanted to say.

OK, sounds good. I can see why trying to finish a bunch of half done maps could be a handful, though i'm sure sections could be used as inspiration if not copy and pasted into a new, similar map.

That's a bummer. I try not to use models and textures that aren't freeware or publicly available - It takes way too much effort to go back and replace everything, especially if you dont have a similar model to replace it with  x3

Cheers, im not sure that the boat maps gonna work out, cos the player can get caught in the corner of the boat (its a func_train) and cause it to stop, which just ruins the section :/ Im thinking of doing a map set on a train i might need some help with so i'll probably post in the help section again!

oh and...

Yeah, quoted for truth. Really. I really get stuck at replacing these ones! There is no way I can do that and that frustrates me a lot.

If you can not enjoy it... there is no reason to do it at all !
